Polsko-norweski Festiwal Twórców Kultury – on July 1 in Rzeszów!
The Festival of Culture Creators is the opening event of the „Subcarpathian Culture without Barriers” project addressed to the residents of the region, where artists from Poland and Norway will present their work. The event will take place on July 01, in Rzeszów (ul. Bożnicza, municipal car park next to BWA in Rzeszów) from 12.00 to 20.00.
This event will feature artists from Podkarpacie, as well as special guests who will come to us straight from Norway. It will be an open-air event during which Podkarpackie and Norwegian artists will network with cultural participants, exchange knowledge on cultural entrepreneurship and audience education, and showcase their work.
The main attraction of the festival will be a rock and blues concert with elements of Ethno, including a surprise – the star of the evening will be the iconic band „1984”, from Rzeszów, Poland.

„Subcarpathian Culture without Barriers” is an international project that aims to support and develop the entrepreneurship of local creators, artists, cultural heritage institutions, and cultural centers. It is aimed at cultural integration and promotion of the cultural heritage of the regions from which the project participants come from.
Festival schedule
The author of the album „I take it on myself,” released in June 2019, returns with new music material. She is one of the most interesting voices on the Polish scene now, and her compositions are one of the most technically complex. The style of the songs of this artist from Rzeszów is an interesting combination of rapping and singing parts, which makes them compositionally more intriguing than most of the songs available on stage. The band was formed last year.
Sabina Kurek is a talented vocalist, author of lyrics and music. She has always had a passion for singing and developed her skills in musical formations with friends. The accompanying successes brought recognition to the audience and made themselves felt in the music world. Her achievements are worth mentioning, such as winning the audience award at the Carpathia Festival with The Breathtakers in 2007.
Somethingski is a Polish musician who gained more popularity abroad than in his native Podkarpackie region. His energetic music has traversed Brazil and is now conquering European countries. His style is characterized by melodic compositions, unforced lyrics and the characteristic sound of banjo, violin and double bass. FOREST is the call of the Lasowiak soul – romantic, nostalgic, but also full of energy, reflecting the difficult life of the inhabitants of the former Sandomierz Forest.
PREBEN ROSENVINGE
Theater and voice artist. He comes from Volda University College, he is a representative of the culture department in the student parliament. He wants to share his experiences and learn from the creators of culture in Poland.

AGNIESZKA FILIPEK
Is a ceramic artist from Rzeszów. Her ceramic works are unique and combine visual art with handcrafting. Agnieszka runs an ecological studio, using solar energy for firing and using local clay. He recovers damaged forms, giving them a new life in the form of candlesticks, fireplaces, and other objects.
SOMAYEH VAZDAR
Illustrator with a particular focus on children’s books. As an artist teaching children’s art, she is especially excited about the „Subcarpathian Culture without Barriers” events to share her experiences, contribute to the artistic development of children in Subcarpathian municipalities, but also connect with like-minded artists, activists and cultural officials, supporting a vibrant an arts community that transcends barriers.
DOMINIKA MIKLAR
An Oslo-based freelance artist working in digital art, animation, illustration and design. She would like to present her art, meet new people, and meet like-minded people for future collaborations
KISHOARE GAJENDRA
PhD student at Volda University College. A visual artist working quite intensively with documentary photography. The recent documentary project „The Insignificant Other” was well received in Norway, Germany, Portugal and India.
CECILIE LIND
An artist from Oslo. Her works are mainly sculptures. She also creates installations mainly based on porcelain. Inspiration often comes from topics relating to politics and contemporary issues. She tries to comment and create a field for reflection. Her style can be described as conceptual contemporary ceramics.
AMIR POUYAN
Norwegian documentary filmmaker with a decade of practical experience in the film industry. Has received awards for his documentary films in Iran and Tokyo Docs in Japan. Lecturer in documentary filmmaking, storytelling, narratology and sound design at the Department of Media and Journalism. During the festival, he will present movies about his experiences he collected from around the world.
